According to Rosner, “There is tremendous talent in this non-audition band, and I look forward to providing a challenging—and rewarding—year of music while nurturing the group’s well-known espirit de corps. NSCB is a fun group of people that really enjoy making music together.” He adds that the band will play a challenging, but rewarding, repertoire this year. The Melrose native began his musical career at the piano and specializes in brass performance with trumpet as his major instrument. He resides in Ramsey. Rosner replaces John Lace, director of instrumental music at Anoka High School who brought his tenure with the NSCB to a close by touring Norway in June.

“Rosner’s youthful enthusiasm for our band is surpassed only by his musicality and leadership. We’re thrilled he’s our newdirector,” says Scott McCullough, new president of the NSCB. “We look forward to watching him take our group to the ‘next level’ of performance. He’s been a great asset to our band for the past two years, whether conducting our group, playing the euphonium or guitar, or assisting with concert logistics. He knows music, he knows our band, and we’re eager to perform under him. It’s going to be a great year for us all.” If you are interested in joining the group please come to one of our Monday evening rehearsals or email info@nscband.org
