The NORTH SUBURBAN CONCERT BAND BEGINS
SPRING/SUMMER SEASON

Memorial Day Observance – Monday, May 26th – 9:45am – Forest Hills Cemetery, Anoka

The NSCB begins its outdoor performance schedule with its annual Memorial Day observance.  The band is always honored to be asked by the Anoka American Legion to participate in this special program, which remembers those who have fallen in the service of this country.  This year’s event, as in past years, will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery on Church Street in Anoka at 9:45am on Memorial Day.

Anoka Mayor’s Fourth of July Ice Cream Social and Concert – Friday, July 4th – 12 – 4pm – George Green Park Band Shell, Anoka

Another tradition continues with the Fourth of July Concert at George Green Band Shell on 7th Avenue in Anoka. Hosted by the Mayor, the event features free root beer floats and music performed by the full concert band.  The North Suburban Jazz Band and other small ensembles fill out the program.

Kickoff Concert for New Music Exhibition – Saturday, July 12th – 11am-12pm – Anoka County Historical Society.

The NSCB has the pleasure of playing at the opening day of “The Sounds of Anoka County,” in which this first segment, “And The Bands Played On,” will showcase the history of community bands, dance bands and school bands.  The event, part of RiverFest, will be held on the grounds of the Anoka Historical Society, 2135 3rd Avenue, Anoka.
